{Chase} Portrait Session, Portland, Oregon

My career as a photographer has been a rollercoaster.  I can't tell you the first time I picked up a camera, I just remember always having one.   I don't remember making the transition from film to digital, I could probably guess by where the overwhelming amount of printed photos ended.   It was always there - on the sidelines.

In 2009, I graduated college (with a random degree in Social Sciences) and decided on a whim to apply for art school.   A few months later, I packed everything my life into my Honda Accord and moved to San Francisco to attend the Academy of Art and work on my Masters in Photography (I emphasize work because as the loans started adding up I quickly changed direction - but that's another story).   One of the things I loved most about being in SF was the artist network I was able to connect with.   I remember being hired through Model Mayhem to shoot a clothing line - I was terrified.   I can only think of how far my photography has come since then.

Fast forward to today.  When Chase's mom asked if I could update his portfolio photos, I was so excited to dust off that old hat I used to wear.   Don't get me wrong, I love families and little people, but there's also something challenging and so fun about capturing a different feeling and vibe that comes with portfolio shots.

A little blurb about Chase - he is as sweet as he is handsome.  Seriously.   This kid is awesome.  Not only is he handsome, but he's smart, and an incredibly skilled soccer player.   Add to that - anytime we walk by his house, he always chats with Charlie.   This kid is going to go far in life.
